The F1 World Champion was a sport chronograph also released by Girrard-Perregaux designed to look like the F1 Ferrari racecar.
The Ferrari/Girard-Perregaux relationship ended in 2004 and since then the watch maker has stopped producing watches with the Ferrari emblem or logo. They however kept one watch of every model they made in their brand museum.
Ferrari then signed a contact with Italian watch maker Panerai and two Ferrari watch models have been released. In 2006, the two watch models, the Granturismo and Scuderia were seen for the first time at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie.
